  jw's reject christmas because of its pagan origins.

  it's not what it meant to people in the distant past that matters but what it means to us living today.

  does anyone today visit a person's house see a christmas tree and think oooh he must be a pagan.

  i've been conditioned since childhood that i'm going to live forever.

  i'm having a hard time contemplating the fact that i'm going to die.

  i'm so afraid of death that i can't enjoy the life i have now.

  Did you ever consider that while you were a JW believing that you will never die that you were never living in the present but the future That you put off living today for a future reward when everything will be perfect and you will be happy.

  Your life no longer belongs to the GB It's yours to enjoy one day at a time Sure make plans for the future but don't pin your happiness on them. As the Chinese say "Happy every day" Works for me. I'm 61. I don't know how many days I have left, I don't care. I'm too busy enjoying this one.

  my manager expects a business plan tomorrow morning, and of course with all the holiday stuff i totally blew it off until the last minute.

  if it weren't for procrastination, i'd have no plan at all.

  i need to show how i plan to be profitabl, and i am so new to all of this, i have no clue where to start.

  my husband was talking to his sister on the phone today, breaking the news to her and one thing she kept bringing up was that god has to have an organization on earth.

  As a JW Did you Feel " Guilted " to go to Meetings /Service if Injured /Sick ?

  many people in the jehovah's witnesses , older ones, younger ones have been expected to pioneer, go in field service with physical disabilities and are even considered "martyrs" if they push themselves to their physical capacities beyond reasonableness .

  thus many witnesses feel sick, exhausted, tired, and essentially fight depression due to high expectations to " burn out " for the wt society.

  have any of you experienced this while in the witnesses ?.

  Yeh Guilted by my bloody wife. She put on such a performance if I did not feel like going and wanted to stay home that I'd finish up going just to keep the peace.
